For Expert Witnesses

Most of what I do is for the lawyers who retain you. This page is the work I do for you. Opposing counsel can buy a profile of your testimony history, your publications and what the public record says about you. Courts have given experts a deadline to produce a proper testimony list or be barred from testifying. The record that follows you from case to case deserves the same treatment as the medical record: every entry tied to the page or public source it came from.

Every sample on this page is synthetic. Every name, record and figure in it is invented, and every page and sheet is marked SYNTHETIC.

Testimony List

I rebuild your testimony list from your own invoices, engagement letters and deposition notices, then check it against public dockets. You get a register with a source for every entry, a list ready for your signature covering the four years before your disclosure date, and a conflicts index you can run each new inquiry against. Anything your records do not answer comes back to you as a question. You attest and sign. I keep it current each quarter.

$350 to build. $150 a year to keep it current.

Qualifications Self-Audit

I set your CV beside the public record: license and board lookups, faculty pages, the publication index and court records that name you. Each claim comes back as matching, differing (both versions shown) or not publicly verifiable. You also get your ten-year publication list, ready to edit. I don't rewrite your CV or tell you how to describe yourself. You see what opposing counsel can see, before they do.

Case File Register

Every production you receive, logged with its Bates range, page count and a fingerprint of the file. You mark what you considered and relied on, and I turn that into your materials-considered list. I also list the documents the records mention that you were never sent, and I track your protective order's dates, including when protected material has to go back.

Included with any record order at $1.00 a page. On its own, $150 a case.

Readiness Binder

One hyperlinked binder for the deposition: your report with each factual statement beside the page it cites, your materials list, your CV and testimony list, and your invoices on the case. The same sections in the same order, every time. No questions and no suggested answers. Retaining counsel may want to see it first, because anything you bring to a deposition can be asked for.

Errata Transcription Check

After your deposition, I compare the transcript with your report and the records for words and figures the reporter printed incorrectly: a dose, a date, a drug name, a Bates number. You get a list with both versions quoted and your 30-day deadline. It covers transcription mismatches only. It never touches the substance of your answers.

I don't write reports, coach testimony, draft agreements, or advise on your rates or terms. I don't give a view on whether you are qualified or whether your opinions will be admitted. I'm a litigation support provider, not a lawyer.
